Our commitment to the community
Providing improved access to high-quality healthcare services is only part of the story of population health. Gundersen St. Joseph's, along with the entire Gundersen Health System, is placing great importance on the need to get ahead of disease and reduce the risks faced by our communities.
Tackling social and economic factors
We know that social and economic factors have the most impact on the health of an individual. Gundersen St. Joseph's is turning its attention to tackling social issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, mental health care and social connectedness, as well as looking at how to be a local leader in economic revitalization by leveraging partnerships with local and regional organizations.
Improving the health of our community
Addressing unhealthy behaviors and providing education to the community is key to reducing the overall cost of healthcare. Gundersen St. Joseph's has begun the process of tackling unhealthy behaviors in the community through free health screenings for diabetes and high cholesterol, and will continue to expand initiatives with the goal of improving the physical and economic health of communities.
Being good stewards of our environment
Gundersen Health System is passionate about being environmentally friendly and, as a result, Gundersen St. Joseph's will benefit from the latest energy technology.
Who we are
About our staff
"Rural is about relationships. We choose to live in a rural area because we want to know our neighbors. The staff at Gundersen St. Joseph's choose to work here because they enjoy having a relationship with those in our care. We realize that our patients have a choice where they receive their healthcare, and we understand that it is the relationship we build with them, along with providing outstanding quality and service, that will determine whether they choose Gundersen St. Joseph's. We are very excited to be embarking on this building project and to have this state-of-the-art facility in which to build relationships and provide outstanding care and service to our community."
Kristie McCoic, Clinic Operations Officer
