Respiratory Therapy
Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital Respiratory Therapy offers several services close to home.
Pulmonary Function Testing
Pulmonary function testing is available Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Pulmonary function testing is a valuable tool for evaluating the respiratory system and is used to grade the severity of an abnormality. It is often used for evaluating respiratory symptoms such as breathing difficulties and cough, for helping your doctor plan if you need surgery, and for diagnosing common diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Sleep Testing
Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital and Clinics offers sleep testing close to home. Our Sleep Study Program has flexible scheduling to meet your needs. A Sleep Study will be helpful in the diagnosis and treatment of:
- Insomnia
- Day time sleepiness
- Narcolepsy
- Sleep apnea
- Heavy snoring
- Oxygenation problems
Overnight Home Sleep Testing
Unlike traditional in-lab sleep testing, which test multitudes of sleep disturbances, home sleep testing is used to diagnose sleep-disordered breathing and to make sure enough oxygen is getting to your blood.
This test collects data on airflow limitations, breathing effort, and oxygen levels.
Holter & Cardiac Event Monitoring
Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital Respiratory Therapy provides continuous recording of heart rhythms using a portable recorder in your home that is analyzed by a Cardiologist.
Holter monitoring and cardiac event monitoring can be scheduled Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Smoking Cessation
The Respiratory Therapy department at Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital and Clinics can help smokers kick their nicotine addiction, provide tools, support and helpful information for people interested in quitting smoking.
