Child life internship
The child life internship is professional preparation for child life certification and entry level child life specialist position. The intern will gain experience working with children 0-18, their caregiver(s), and the medical team to assist in coping with stressful healthcare experiences. Primary areas of coverage will be in the pediatric inpatient unit and emergency services, with some coverage in surgery and outpatient procedures.
This is an unpaid, non-benefited 600+ hour internship. Applicants can be with or without University affiliation.
Requirements for child life internship
We follow the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) deadlines for the internship application process:
Fall Internship (September-December)

Winter/Spring Internship (January-May)
- Posted by August 5
- Application Deadline: September 5
