Supervised Exercise Therapy

Supervised Exercise Therapy (SET) is a 12-week program for people who have been diagnosed with symptomatic peripheral arterial disease (PAD). This is a primary treatment for those who suffer from PAD. Most insurance covers the program.

The goals of SET are:

  • Learn the importance of exercise, specifically walking, for reducing symptoms
  • Help you set up a safe, individualized walking program and goals
  • Decrease leg pain
  • Improve exercise tolerance
  • Improve quality of life
  • Control other health problems that affect daily life

Supervised Exercise Therapy is on Level 6 of the Gundersen Clinic in La Crosse.
