The specially trained Genetics team at Gundersen Health System includes a medical geneticist and genetic counselors. They provide genetic screening, diagnosis, counseling and management services for children and adults affected by, or at risk for, genetic conditions.
They can help identify underlying genetic cause that steers children and adults to get the right treatment, know what to expect in the future and determine if any other family members might be at risk.
Our board-certified medical geneticist is specially trained to evaluate, diagnose, manage and treat individuals of all ages with a number of genetic disorders, both inherited and new-onset.
Our genetic counselors work in collaboration with our medical geneticist to investigate the cause of developmental problems, birth defects or genetic conditions. They specialize in the following areas: preconception, prenatal, pediatrics, cancer and adult disorders.
