Varicose Vein Reduction
Sclerotherapy is an in-clinic procedure that treats uncomplicated spider veins and small- to medium-sized varicose veins. Multiple tiny injections of a special solution creates internal scarring. This closes up the faulty vein, causing it to fade away over a period of about six months. Blood flow reroutes through healthier veins.
Most people who have sclerotherapy see good improvement of 60 to 90 percent with a full course of treatment (averaging two to three sessions, but more may be needed for best results). But outcomes will vary depending on the severity of the veins being treated.
While sclerotherapy offers good results in most cases, it may not be right for everyone. Gundersen offers other treatment options that can be done for both medical and cosmetic treatment of varicose veins and a milder form of varicose veins known as spider veins.
