Proposal Letter Template
Use this template to help initiate a conversation with your supervisor about funding your RTS training. Customize to fit your needs. Here are a few tips to consider.
- Explain yourself – Explain what you plan to get out of attending and how that will benefit your work, organization, and patients.
- Share the wealth – Offer to subsequently deliver a short presentation and Q & A session for your colleagues to share what you learned so others will reap benefits of your attendance.
- Consider Magnet status – If your hospital has or is trying to obtain Magnet status, remind your supervisor that demonstrating staff participation in continuing education is vital to securing and keeping designation.
- Be proactive – Present a practical plan that solidifies your intent
- Organize mechanisms that ensure coverage of your regular duties while you are attending the conference.
- Offer cost-saving solutions, such as securing registration and travel arrangements early and sharing a hotel room.
