Gundersen offers drive-thru lab on La Crosse’s North Side

Gundersen offers drive-thru lab on La Crosse’s North Side
Wednesday, April 21, 2021

Gundersen Health System's Drive-Thru Lab makes it possible for patients to have lab work done without finding a parking spot or even stepping out of their vehicle.

The Drive-Thru Lab, now permanently located on the north side of La Crosse at 1207 Mulberry Lane, is open seven days a week.

"We're happy to offer our patients this safe, quick and convenient option for lab services," says Cheryl Peters, clinical manager of Gundersen Lab Services. "Patients do not need an appointment, only a referral for lab services from their healthcare provider. Please stop in for a visit. We'd love to see you."

Services available at the drive-thru location include:

  • Routine blood draws
  • Limited home testing supply pick-up and drop-off
  • Fingerstick INR
  • Strep and influenza testing
  • COVID-19 testing—patients must be pre-screened using MyChart, the patient portal, or by calling the Gundersen COVID Nurse Line at (608) 775-4465

Patients using the Drive-Thru Lab are encouraged to have someone drive them to their appointment, if possible. If they drive alone, they'll be asked to wait 10 minutes before leaving.

When patients arrive, they should call the phone number posted on the signage. Gundersen staff will guide them through the process.

Hours for the Drive-Thru Lab are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday and Sunday.
