Gundersen can help smokers quit to honor this year's Great American Smokeout

Smoking cigarettes is the single largest preventable cause of death and disease.

The Great American Smokeout on Nov. 19 brings awareness to the addictiveness of nicotine and how quitting can improve health both immediately and long term. Electronic cigarettes and vaping also continue to be a concern for the health of the community. Many of these products contain high levels of nicotine and other chemicals.

Quitting tobacco is not easy, but it is possible. Quitting for one day can lead to another.

Gundersen is ready to help smokers quit. To learn more, call Wellness Education Specialist Susan Lundsten at (608) 775-5442.
