Survivors of domestic violence to speak out

Gundersen Health System's Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program is hosting a public event, "The Rest is Still Unwritten" on Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the Center for Women, at the Gundersen Onalaska Clinic.

Survivors of domestic violence will share their stories and demonstrate the hope and life after surviving abuse. Local human service agencies will also have booths set up to educate attendees. This event is free and open to the public.

In addition, the Gundersen Onalaska Clinic has an exhibit on display until Dec. 31 from the U.S. National Library of Medicine titled, "Confronting Violence: Improving Women's Lives" The exhibit provides a historical look at how the United States gradually began to recognize and raise awareness of domestic violence and battered women.
