Gundersen Moundview welcomes nurse practitioner to Friendship Clinic
Virginia (Ginny) Batie, ARNP, has returned home and joined the Gundersen Moundview Friendship Clinic as a nurse practitioner.
Ginny grew up in the Arkdale area and graduated from Adams-Friendship High School. She earned her associate degree in nursing from Madison Area Technical College-Reedsburg Campus. She received her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, followed by her masters degree in Family Nurse Practitioner from Maryville University, St. Louis, Mo. Prior to returning to Adams County, Ginny cared for patients at Centura Physicians Group at Ulysses Family Physicians Clinic in Ulysses, Kan.
Ginny cares for patients of all ages but has a special interest in pediatric and adult health including chronic disease, prevention and wellness. "Patients have told me I am a very compassionate and caring provider," says Ginny. "I believe that patient education is key to the prevention of chronic disease and hospitalization. I enjoy practicing in rural areas. There is a great need for healthcare providers in small communities where residents would otherwise need to travel long distances for their care."
Ginny says she is excited to reconnect and provide care for people she knows and grew up with. She also looks forward to meeting new patients and families and establishing a relationship with them. "I feel my life has come full circle," she explains. "I am coming back home so I can give back to the community that gave to me. "I was involved in 4-H, sports and band had a good experience growing up in Adams County. To be able to give back to the community in this career path is amazing."
Ginny and her husband, David, have a blended family of six children and ten grandchildren. When not working she enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, camping, hunting, gardening, baking and horseback riding.
