Gundersen Moundview launches new patient portal and online billing

Gundersen Moundview Hospital and Clinics transitioned to a new electronic health record on Nov. 1, offering patients a more seamless approach to care across Gundersen Health System and an improved patient portal called MyCare.

MyCare allows patients to view their health record online, schedule appointments and make an E-visit for non-urgent illnesses. Patients also can:

  • Check-in for appointments
  • View lab results in 24 hours
  • Read appointment notes written by their healthcare provider
  • Order prescription refills and contact lenses
  • Other features not available through the previous patient portal

Patients can access their health record online, at any time from any location, using their cellphone or computer through MyCare but must register for the portal.

Patients can ask for help setting up MyCare at their first appointment after Nov. 1 or visit and select "sign up now." Follow the step-by-step, on-screen instructions. Download the Android or iPhone app by searching "Epic MyChart" in Google Play™ or the App Store™. Once downloaded, scroll and select Gundersen Health System MyCare and log in with your MyCare username and password. The mobile app gives you access to most but not all of MyCare's features.

Information regarding care after Nov. 1, 2018, will be found in MyCare. Information regarding care before Oct. 31, 2018, will remain in MyView for at least four months.

Visit the Gundersen Moundview Hospital and Clinics homepage at for easy access to both patient portals.

For a short time, Gundersen Moundview will need to use two different billing systems, based on the date of care. The Gundersen Moundview Hospital and Clinics website provides links to both billing systems and will specify which to use: "Payments for services starting Nov. 1, 2018" or "Payments for services through Oct. 31, 2018."

Patients with questions about signing up for MyCare should call (608) 775-0303 or email For questions about billing, please call Gundersen Moundview Patient Accounts at (608) 339-8366.

"The transition to our new electronic health record, patient portal and billing system may result in some temporary delays and we anticipate patients will have questions," says Lori Wittig, director of clinical operations. "We ask for patience as we learn to navigate the new system. Ultimately, this change will open the door to our patients receiving healthcare in new, more convenient ways."
