Making a bad day a little bit brighter

softball glove and mitt

Last Saturday, my boyfriend's brother was in town to play in a softball tournament. Unfortunately, during the third game of the day, he dislocated his shoulder and had to make a trip to Emergency Services in La Crosse. This was a softball team he loved to play with, but had to quit when he moved away, so he was pretty heartbroken when his beloved jersey had to be cut off of him. I am not sure who was responsible for doing this, but they must have sensed how sad he was about his jersey. When he was discharged from Emergency Services, he had a new jersey made for him! Someone had taken a disposable blue scrub top and wrote 'Team Gundersen' on the front and his last name and number on the back. I wish I could give credit to whoever was working that day and did this because they made him smile through a lot of pain. I know this trip to Gundersen was not quite how he wanted to spend the day, but this thoughtful act definitely made his bad day a little brighter.
