The Gundersen Palmer Lutheran Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by specially trained medical providers and nurses. We have a Level IV trauma designation with Laboratory and Radiology services available. If a patient needs more specialized care, the patient is stabilized and transported by ambulance or helicopter to a specialty care facility chosen by the patient. Test results and vital healthcare information are sent to the receiving hospital so advanced planning can be started before the patient's arrival.
