About the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit

The Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit is a separate building from our La Crosse Hospital. There is a visitor entrance located at 1901 Seventh St. S., La Crosse. Inside, we have distinct, healing spaces for:

  • Adolescents (ages 13-18 and still in school)
  • Adults (ages 18+ and out of school)

Alongside every patient, our coordinated team of mental health professionals helps create individualized goals and treatment plans to build the skills and resilience needed for improved daily functioning. We review progress toward goals often and assess each patient's readiness for discharge daily. Before patients leave, we create a discharge plan to ensure they have outpatient therapy and supportive resources in place at home and in their community.

Inpatient visiting hours

12 p.m. (noon) to 6 p.m. daily

Call (608) 775-3523 to pre-schedule a visit. Visits are limited to 30 minutes. Children under age 16 may visit; however, children must be with and supervised by an adult.
