Tri-County Tree of Life

Gundersen Tri-County Foundation supports patient, community health and wellness

The Gundersen Tri-County Foundation makes a difference in the area it serves.

The Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics, supports initiatives that aim to improve the health and wellness of patients, families and the community, says Joni Olson, chief executive officer, Gundersen Tri-County.

"The purpose is to encourage and offer things in the communities that will support and sustain the values of family, health and wellness," she says. "It is a valuable organization that helps in a very diverse way to touch every aspect of need in our communities."

Supported by donations, contributions are used to enhance patient-care services by improving healthcare facilities, technology and equipment; support employee education; and fund scholarships for high-school students and others who plan to study healthcare, says Foundation chair Kurt Johnson.

In the past year, the Foundation contributed to food pantries, a new community swimming pool in Blair and a new Arcadia Ambulance facility to address community needs, Kurt says.

"Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics is here to serve the health needs of our patients and residents in this region," says Joni. "It is our responsibility and goal to see a patient's health continue when they leave our facility. Without the Foundation's support, we would lack the funding and resources to provide that healthy lifestyle and support to the patients and families in our communities."

The Foundation is guided by a set of by-laws and includes seven community members who believe in supporting the community and Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics, Joni says.

Contributions stay within the service areas of Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and Clinics. Donors can give through gifting plans, one-time gifts to honor loved ones or by supporting fundraising events.

"Everyone can make a difference in our community," Joni says.
