New clinic, more convenient care coming to Tomah
Tomah area residents will soon have a convenient place to receive all their healthcare services, including cancer care.
Gundersen Health System is building a two-story, 77,000-square-foot clinic next to the new Tomah Memorial Hospital near Interstate 90 on Tomah's south side.

The new Gundersen Tomah Clinic will be home to a variety of medical, vision, behavioral health and dental services including a Comprehensive Cancer Center, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Imaging, OB/GYN, Orthopaedics and Podiatry. The clinic will also have a Pharmacy and Renal Dialysis Center. Currently, Behavioral Health and Renal Dialysis are at separate locations away from the Tomah Clinic.
"Gundersen is a great health system. Patients are pleased with our level of care and delivery of that care. This new facility will allow us to continue along this path, with the expansion of other service lines, such as the new cancer center," comments Robert Holness, MD, OB/GYN, and medical director at the Gundersen Tomah Clinic. "It represents not only our support for Tomah Memorial Hospital and their growth, but most importantly represents our continued support and devotion to serve the Tomah area and surrounding communities. The Gundersen Tomah team is motivated, engaged and thrilled to continue to offer our excellent standard of care in this brand new facility."
The Comprehensive Cancer Center will offer medical and radiation oncology services, and will include a linear accelerator to allow patients with cancer to receive radiation treatments in Tomah. Currently, some patients have to travel approximately 100 miles round trip, up to five days a week to Gundersen in La Crosse to receive their cancer treatments.
Construction of the Gundersen Tomah Clinic is scheduled to begin later this spring and open in the fall of 2019.
