This recipe takes 15 minutes to prepare from start to eating, not to mention so yummy!

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 oz.) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp. lime zest
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil

Preparation

In a food processor, process beans until mashed. Transfer to bowl and add egg, bread crumbs, zest and spices. Mix well to combine.

Divide into 4 patties. Heat oil on griddle. Cook bean patties on one side for 5 minutes, or until golden brown. Flip and cook on the other side for the same time.

Serve on bun with provolone cheese, red onion slices, lettuce, tomato and condiments as desired.
