Introduced by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma (COT) in 1980, the Advanced Trauma Life Support® (ATLS®) program will teach you a systematic, concise approach to the care of a trauma patient.
If you don't treat trauma patients often, an ATLS course provides an easy method to remember for evaluation and treatment of a trauma victim.
What you'll learn from the two-day course:
- A safe and reliable method for immediate management of injured patients
- How to assess a patient's condition; resuscitate and stabilize them; and determine if their needs exceed a facility's capacity
- How to arrange for a patient's inter-hospital transfer and assure that optimum care is provided throughout the process
Cancellations received at least six weeks prior to the course will be given a full refund. Cancellations received less than six weeks before the course will only be given a partial refund if the spot can be re-filled. Exceptions will be made in the event of death in immediate family (spouse, parent, sibling, child), medical emergency or other emergent situation as determined by the ATLS Course Director. Course materials, agenda and hotel information will be sent electronically one month prior to the course along with a mailed hardcopy of the course manual.
