Intended Audience: Psychologists, therapists, social workers, nurses and other behavioral health professionals are encouraged to attend this workshop. APA instructional level is Introductory/Intermediate. ASWB Category is Ethics; Content Level is Beginner/Intermediate; and Social Work Educational area is social work ethics.
Accreditation: Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation Inc. is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation Inc. maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation Inc., provider # 1089, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. ||Ethics Workshop for Behavioral Health Providers
Upon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to:
- Recognize basics of ethics and medical ethics concepts relevant to behavioral health
- Describe the ethics of treatment decision-making for patients who lack capacity
- Explain the differences between moral and ethical dilemmas
- Explain and utilize a process for resolving ethical dilemmas in clinical practice
- Discuss and describe special clinical ethics topics, including mandatory reporting; goals of therapy/treatment; confidentiality; conscientious objection to treatment; dual relationships; and scientific experimentation
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be requested via email or phone prior to Sept. 27, 2019. A refund minus a $25 administration fee will be issued. No refunds will be made after Sept. 27, 2019.
If the Ethics Workshop for Behavioral Health Providers is postponed or cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund of registration fees will be provided. Gundersen Medical Foundation Inc. will not be responsible for any related travel costs to the conference.
