One in four older adults falls each year, sometimes resulting in lifelong health issues. Thankfully, many falls can be prevented through regular exercise. To encourage movement in a fun, engaging way, Gundersen is offering Bingocize®—a 10-week online course that combines a Bingo-like game with exercise and health education.
Who can participate?
Bingocize® is intended for adults who are at least 60 years old and is enjoyed by people with a wide range of physical and mental abilities.
When and where does the class meet?
Participants will meet virtually on Mondays and Wednesday from Feb. 15 to April 26. Each session is from 3 to 4 p.m. A Gundersen trauma and injury prevention coordinator, Megan Anderson, will meet virtually with each participant before the program starts to ensure understanding of the technology that will be used and other course expectations. Note: The group will not meet Monday, March 15.
What are the benefits of Bingocize®?
Goals of the program include:
- Improving mobility and independence
- Increasing knowledge of falls prevention
