Giving Tuesday

Honor someone special on #GivingTuesday

November 27

We all know about Black Friday—the biggest shopping day of the year. #GivingTuesday is the Tuesday following Black Friday. Instead of a day for shopping, it's a day when the world comes together to give.

On #GivingTuesday (or before), be part of something BIG! Join your friends, coworkers, neighbors and the La Crosse community in donating to Gundersen Medical Foundation. This is a special way to honor someone you admire and are grateful for--whether it be a coworker, medical staff, a friend or a family member who brightens your day.

Your gift will serve as a meaningful tribute to someone special in your life, while helping to advance medical education, research and community health. Without specifying your gift amount, the Foundation will send an acknowledgement note that includes your personal message to each honoree or group* you choose to recognize.

Gundersen employees can also make a gift using payroll deduction.

*For large groups, including departments, one note will be sent to the department manager.

Gaining a new perspective

As a palliative care provider at Gundersen Carrie Lapham, CNS, NP, knows compassionate care and hope are important to patients with life-threatening illnesses. So, Carrie and her husband, Wesley, make gifts to Gundersen Medical Foundation’s hospice fund and Paula’s Purse, a fund which provides resources to cancer patients. "I see how much these resources mean to people," says Carrie.

Carrie developed even greater empathy for her patients since her own cancer diagnosis in 2017. "I received exemplary care and I see the difference that the Foundation makes in the lives of patients during very stressful times," Carrie explains. She continues to support the Foundation "because it really makes a difference – and it feels good!"

"Giving makes me confident that excellent care at Gundersen will be available for future generations," says Carrie. Please join Carrie and make a feel-good, year-end gift.
