Bayer brings critical care, emergency experience to Regional Services

Kara Bayer, RN, BSN

Gundersen Health System Regional Services and Telemedicine welcomes Kara Bayer, RN, BSN, to its team as a referral services representative.

"Clinicians and staff in our region do fantastic work," Kara says. "It's my job to help them build upon the already strong practice they have and connect them to resources at Gundersen."

Kara joined Gundersen in 2001 as a Critical Care technician. After finishing nursing school, she spent a year in Float Pool. Kara moved back to Critical Care before eventually joining Gundersen AIR as a flight nurse. She later added nurse educator to her résumé.

"Kara has a strong clinical background that fits this role well," says Dave Guggenbuehl, director, Regional Services and Telemedicine. "As a flight nurse, she has worked with regional Critical Access Hospitals and emergency medical service providers. We are thrilled to have her join our team."

"Regional clinicians and staff appreciate face-to-face conversations and data," Kara says. "I'll work hard to help them provide the best patient outcomes and experience possible, with a focus on telemedicine, emergency services, stroke care and specialty outreach services."

For more information, providers can contact Kara or any member of the Regional Services and Telemedicine team through MedLink. Call (608) 775-5465 or (800) 336-5465.
