Growing to meet our patients' needs close to home
At Gundersen Health System we continue to reinforce our mission to care for patients in our communities close to home. Two current projects will give your patients in the Tomah and Winona areas better access to Gundersen services without needing to travel far.
Construction is well underway for the new Gundersen Tomah Clinic. The new 77,00 square-foot clinic is being built just off Interstate 90 near the new Tomah Medical Center (formally Tomah Memorial Hospital) on Tomah’s south side. The new clinic will bring all the services offered in Tomah to one location including Behavioral Health, Dental, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Imaging, Lab, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Renal Dialysis and Vision. The large space will also allow for additional services in the future.
In addition, the new Gundersen Tomah Clinic will include a 5,200 square-foot Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Cancer Center will allow patients in the Tomah area who are battling cancer to receive medical and radiation oncology services, including radiation treatments, close to home.
Construction of the new Tomah Clinic is expected to be completed in the fall of 2019.
Gundersen recently purchased the former Kmart property in Winona. The property just off Highway 61 on Vila Street has been vacant for several years and is centrally located and well-known to residents.
Specifics plans for the former Kmart property are still being discussed. Gundersen currently offers several services in Winona at the 111 Riverfront Building near Walnut and East Second Avenue including Sports Medicine, Dental Specialties, Audiology, Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Otolaryngology, Pediatric Allergy, Physical Therapy, Pulmonary, Rheumatology and Urology. Gundersen Eye Clinic Winona is located on the same downtown Winona block.
