We had a good experience. We were treated respectfully and professionally. Dr.Spanel was thorough and knowledgeable.

Dr. Spanel spent more time listening and speaking to me about my condition. Hopefully he has a better idea of what is goin on with my condition.

RN and MD were great, but the medical tech who came in to my room to begin with could not pronounce the correct names of medicines (most of them) that I was taking or the alternate name of the medicine if I knew it didn't know it by the name she was trying to call it.

I had an overall highly positive feeling after meeting with this Dr. Sp in Neurology. He seemed to care deeply about my health and happiness. It gave me a feeling deep inside of how much he truly cared and for the 1st time in a long time, I smiled when walking out of the exam room. Thank-you Dr. Sp, you are so appreciated.

I was told 1st by the nurse who took me to the room that she had not had time to go through my chart and could only tell me my appointment was for a follow up, no details. Dr. Spanel told me he did not have time to go through and read all my notes with me. Therefore, many questions and concerns I had were not addressed.

4 hours in my car for a 30 min appointment is just silly. I won't be using Gundersen for any future neurological issues.

I had my first appointment in this department and I was impressed with the friendliness of all of the staff and physician.

Everyone in the neurology department was fabulous. The nurse that worked with me first was great. When he came in, he just was wonderful. I am so thankful that I came to see him. He helped me, guided me, and if I need to see him again, I can do that. So, yes, they were great. I can't say enough good things about them because they were amazing.

The Doctor was very professional, he compared my testing from yesterday to my last appointment and asked a lot of questions. I feel very comfortable with him.

I thought this was going to be an awful experience because my current provider canceled my appointment at the absolute last minute possible. Dr. Spanel was very nice to get me into his schedule at the last minute and I am very appreciative of that. He was very kind and listened to whatever I had to say about my medical condition. Very impressed by the quality of his care. I felt very understood and well taken care of by him and his nurse.

Well, I thought that he spoke to me very well and he kind of gave me like a IQ test or whatever it was. I know I didn't do very good in the math part of it, but it did a lot ... very well on how many words I could see that start with a F. And ... but he seemed like ... I thought he seemed like a very nice person and listened to me and I had a good impression of him.

It took four months to set up an appointment with the neurology department. I understand this is due to short staffing and increased demand for services nationwide.

I arrived on time but had to wait at least 30 minutes. As for insurance, the $30. copay does not make sense.

Very good experience and really liked Dr. Spanel! The only downside to the whole experience was the wait time for an appointment in Neurology.....ours was between 6-8 weeks and we really needed the appointment so medication could be prescribed and started

I wasted my time and money. I feel I was not listening too. I felt that he could not figure out what is wrong with me. Leaving I felt that would have to suck it up and live with my medical problems. I get treated like I am dumb and I don't know what is going on. I knew he would not help me and I was right. I would like a doctor that can help me. I don't trust doctors because of what happened to me.you waite to see a professional and nothing.i can not afford going up there for no answers. But I am tired of having my physical problems and not being taken seriously and not just him. He may help others but I have to see him. I'm having a hard time not knowing what is wrong and I am getting worse. Thank you for listening to me and have a nice day.

It took three months to be seen once referral was made!

Dr. Spanel is very kind and patient. Never felt rushed, and felt like he really listened to our concerns.

One suggestion, you need more than one person checking in people. We were told to be at the clinic at 7:45 for check in for the 8am appt. We were there by 7:45 but it was 5-10 minutes after 8 that we were checked in. The line went from the check-in desk all the way back to the elevators. The gentleman checking in the people was very polite, did not get frustrated with the people and handled everything in a very calm manner

This is my first experience with Dr Spanel. He was present at my surgery however we was not aware of him under the circumstances. He seemed to be well versed with programming the Abbott DBS devise.

It was a great experience with Dr. Spanel. I was in need of a new provider for my Botox treatment for chronic migraine and was able to establish care with Dr. Spanel. He was friendly and caring and the appointment was pretty quick (but not too quick).

Waste of my time and wasted $50 co payment.

It was nice/unusual to see an actual Dr., as well as someone that listened to what I said, and did not try to push more drugs.

I am doing well and said I should call anytime I feel there is a change. Ataxia is my diagnosis, and there isn't any medication for it. I've doctored with this condition for quite a few years until they came up with this diagnosis a couple years ago. I don't need to be seen anymore for this and he felt I am doing everything I can to stay strong and to keep doing what I am. The YMCA is my second home and what I am doing there for exercise seems to be keeping me strong and able to get around without falling. I would recommend Dr. Spanel to my friends. He is very caring and really is on top of all I have been through to get to the diagnosis I have now.

Dr. Spanel is exemplary: he listened and looked directly at me (not often the case theses days). He was thorough in questioning me, examining my walking and standing issues, searched my past records to answer my questions, compare results, , determine treatment changes. I am so fortunate to be under Dr Spanel's care.

He was very kind and listened to everything I was concerned about. He did everything he could to make me comfortable as I have a lot of anxiety with meeting new people.
