Yes, this is the first time I experienced Dr. Sassaman. Anyway, I was very impressed with him. He was thorough and he made sure I didn't have any other questions and so on and so forth. And we talked about my past history with cataracts, so on and so forth. So I thought he was right on the ball. I was impressed. Thank you.

Great service

The only negative thing is there are WAY TOO MANY reminders of upcoming appointments. In the past, I have tried to discontinue those but they started again for this appointment. Letters, emails, phone calls etc. I asked the receptionist to cause those to stop and she said it will only be a letter in the future. Gundersen is still way behind the times in communications from patients. Gundersen sends out loads but does not allow the patients to send anything in like blood pressure reports, ECGs etc. Have complained about this in the past to no avail. Also, on-line registration asks for "health history" all over again. Will not be using that in the future either. I deal with two other health providers and they have dealt with these issues but Gundersen just lets them go on and on. Time to catch up with the times. Have agreed to be part of feedback community in the past but am told "they don't need me". I'm sure you don't want to hear what I have to say as things are not going to change anyway.

I absolutely love how he talked with her about how her summer went and her favorite bands. Very good character.

This was only my second time seeing Dr. Sassman and I liked how efficient he was. It was nice to get out of there in a timely manner.

I paid my bill yesterday, but just got a bill for $87.

Everyone was wonderful until I got out to look for glasses. The lady working was not very helpful. She expected me to know what I wanted for glasses instead of giving me ideas of what would look good on my face. I left and said I would be back but I don't know if I will return.

I see my provider out of network because of the excellent care that I receive. My prescription is absolutely perfect every time and everyone is very professional and courteous, and they help me pick out great frames.

Staff was personable and accommodating. Prior to my appointment, I requested providers wear masks when in the exam room with me, which they honored with no additional prompting or fuss.

I was seen by a nurse and a nursing student who was observing and learning the procedures before the doctor came in to see me. The nurse did not interact with the nursing student in a professional manner and did not talk highly of him when he left the room. It was unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. Also, the front desk did not inform me until after my appointment that they did not take my insurance to cover the cost of the visit and was very rude in explaining the problem.

Dr. Sassaman is an absolute delight, confident and very capable person,optometrist. He listened, we had a discussion, I did not feel I was a number. I felt like I was a patient and he was interested in me as a person. I would like to applaud him and I do hope you put that in. I do respect him a lot. Thank you.
