No Patient Experience Reviews – Why Not?

Gundersen Health System requires a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys in a 12-month period for each clinician before posting a clinician’s rating. Industry best practice is clear that more data provides a more accurate picture of the patient experience.

Personal Interests

Dr. Welch was born in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Her father (a family doctor) and mother (a nurse) were working as medical missionaries at a small mission hospital at the time. They left when she was young due to civil war and she spent most of her upbringing in Fort Wayne, Ind. Dr. Welch’s early exposure to medical mission through her parents and her own experience of short term medical mission trips are what initially made her want to pursue medicine.

During medical school she and her entire family were able to return to Sierra Leone. It was during that trip that she developed the desire to pursue surgery.
