Bring your own face coverings
Beginning the week of April 27, we request that you bring your own face covering and wear it for the duration of your visit at all Gundersen locations. Below we have some frequently asked questions about face coverings.
There are many face covering options
Should I bring my own face covering when I arrive?
Yes. If you have a face covering, please bring it along and wear it for the duration of your visit with us. We have a limited supply, so we'd ask that you bring your own. Need help making your own face covering? The CDC has step-by-step directions on how to make a face covering.
Face coverings with vents not allowed.
Gundersen Infection Control notes that masks with vents do not effectively reduce the risk of transmitting infection to others, which is the primary reason to wear a mask. Any patients, visitors or staff wearing a mask with exhalation vents will be asked to switch to an acceptable covering. If patients or visitors do not have another type of covering with them, they will be given one during their entrance screening.
What can I expect when I arrive for my appointment?
We look forward to seeing you. When you arrive at your appointment location, be sure to follow the signage to the open entrances. Don't forget to wear your face covering!
Are Gundersen staff having their temperatures checked, too?
Yes, Gundersen staff are checking their temperatures daily and monitoring for other symptoms of COVID-19. We want to make sure OUR team is safe and healthy so YOU are safe and healthy.
What other precautions are my provider and the care team taking?
You will likely see our care teams wearing masks, face shields and other protective equipment. Again, this is to ensure their and your health and safety.
