Child Life Fall Internship 2024 (September 3 - December 20, 2024) 

The child life internship is professional preparation for child life certification and entry level child life specialist position.  The intern will gain experience working with children 0-18, their caregiver(s), and the medical team to assist in coping with stressful healthcare experiences.  The internship will consist of rotations through outpatient clinics, surgery, emergency services, and inpatient care.   

This is an unpaid, non-benefited 600+ hour internship.  Applicants can be with or without University affiliation.

Job Description:

Gundersen Health System provides a professional hands-on experience tailored to meet the interests of the interns in conjunction with the current activities of the department. Internships are available to students who have graduated from or are currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelors or master's degree program.

Major Responsibilities:
1. Performs job-related responsibilities as requested.

Education and Learning:
Post High School education in a specialized field:
Currently in or graduated from an Associate's, Bachelor's or Master's Program in a related field.

Work Experience:
1 year in a related field.

Category I - All Employees in this job title have a reasonably anticipated risk of occupational exposure to blood and/or other potentially infectious materials.

Environmental Conditions:
Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work).
