Description

Gundersen Health System is currently seeking a 0.8FTE Certified Nurse Midwife for a full scope women's health practice.  This is a busy practice that serves women of the tri-state region, providing care at two clinical sites and covering call for Labor & Delivery at the main campus of the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.  This is a part-time opportunity to provide compassionate, patient-centered care, joining 11 midwives that enjoy a collaborative practice with our cooperating OB/GYN physicians.  Our Midwives function in collaboration with physicians, assessing, planning, and implementing care to antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum women as well as selected gynecology patients.  Gundersen Health System celebrated 45 years of midwifery care in 2020 and has the honor of the longest continuously running midwifery program in the state of Wisconsin. We also enjoy a very low C-section rate and offer vbac and waterbirth to appropriate patient populations.

Must have completed an accredited program and be eligible to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations.  Advanced practice clinicians work under the direct supervision of a physician.  Clinician staff may need to provide outreach service as part of their role in the system.  Teaching students, residents, fellows or clinical staff is cornerstone to our Medical Education philosophy and an expectation of all clinicians.
