Gundersen Boscobel invites you to Go RED for Women

Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics will recognize February as American Heart Month by encouraging staff and community members to participate in Go RED for Women Day on Friday, Feb. 7.

Although predominantly associated with men, heart disease and attacks are the leading cause of death for women. The American Heart Association launched Go RED for Women in 2003 to raise awareness and dispel the myth that heart disease doesn’t affect women.

Go RED for women is intended to empower women to take charge of their heart health. It challenges them to know their danger for heart disease and to take action to reduce personal risk. It also gives them the tools they need to lead a heart healthy life. To truly "Go RED," women should exercise, eat healthy, visit their doctor for important tests and influence others by talking about heart health.

Gundersen Boscobel encourages community members to join staff in wearing red on Feb. 7 to raise awareness for this important cause. If you do, please submit pictures by e-mail to askenney@gundersenhealth.org.

Whether you are an individual, a classroom, a community organization or a local business, you can make a difference by going RED and explaining why you did. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative picture and from all pictures submitted. Some pictures also will be shared on Gundersen’s website and Facebook page.
