Gundersen Boscobel supports Hearts of Gold Games
Hearts of Gold games participants and leadership
A healthy, active life after a cardiac event is possible with the right care and support. It's also possible to regain your (friendly) competitive edge.
Nine current or former Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics Cardiopulmonary Rehab patients, their spouses attended the 19th Hearts of Gold Games April 5 in Baraboo. They were joined by Nora Munson, Director, and Andrea Ryan, RN, Gundersen Boscobel Cardiopulmonary Rehab.
The event brings together patients from the region for a day of celebration, camaraderie and fun competition to show how hearts can strengthen after rehab from heart attack, heart disease, diabetes and other conditions.
Participants competed at their own pace in events like horseshoes; bean bag toss; golf putting; a quarter-mile indoor or outdoor walk; and even a healthy treat bake off.
The Hearts of Gold Games was presented by the Wisconsin Society for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Health & Rehabilitation – Southwest Region.
