Gundersen Boscobel partners with Boscobel Farmers Market to offer Terrace Tuesdays weekday markets
Now in its second season, the Boscobel Farmers Market and Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics have once again teamed up to host a monthly weekday farmers market which has been newly named Terrace Tuesday. The weekday farmers market will be held on the second Tuesday of each month June through October at Gundersen Boscobel's Bluff Street Terrace.
In existence since 2015, the Boscobel Farmers Market has continued to offer a marketplace for local farmers and vendors to showcase their goods every Saturday through the growing season from 8 a.m. to noon at Depot Park. Building upon the success of the Saturday morning markets and to meet the growing demand from patrons for fresh produce outside the standard market hours, the weekday market was born.
The weekday market season was kicked off on Tuesday, June 12 at the Bluff Street Terrace with a strong vendor showing that boasted a great selection for market-goers. The June market theme was colon cancer prevention and offered attendees that opportunity to take a walk through a giant inflatable colon to learn why early screenings are critical to preventing colorectal cancer.
The market also offered several kid-friendly activities such as rock paint, tabletop foosball, teddy bear casting and much more. "We're excited to be a strong supporter and partner of the Boscobel Farmer's Market which has allowed us to host these weekday markets," stated Natalie Tollefson, GBAHC Director of Community Relations. "The Farmers Market has been a great addition to both Boscobel and the surrounding communities, and is a true enhancement of the initial mission of making fresh, locally grown produce more accessible." Katie Reynolds primary Farmer's Market organizer concurred, "Gundersen Boscobel has been an ideal partner in this market expansion."
