Weekday Farmer's Market at Gundersen Boscobel a success
The Boscobel Farmer's Market and Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics hosted their first-ever Weekday Farmer's Market on Wednesday, June 14 on the Bluff Street side of the hospital, and the event was a success!
Despite some potentially threatening weather, vendors came to showcase their wares, which ranged from produce to baked goods to meat and more. There were also host tables for both the Boscobel Farmer's Market organization and Gundersen Boscobel, who offered free blood pressure checks, handed out promotional items and flyers, and offered a door prize.
"We are excited that this weekday market offers another opportunity for fresh, local produce and goods," shared Eric Swan, Gundersen Boscobel's Director of Community Relations. "We hope to have more produce at future events as the growing season progresses, but the variety was even better than we had hoped at the first market." Event organizer Gina Goss, Branch Manager at Community First Bank in Boscobel concurred, "We were really pleased with how things went, especially at a new time and in a new location. There was a great turnout, especially of Gundersen Boscobel employees. Another event planner, Katie Reynolds added, "Vendors sold many of their items in the first hour, which is a great problem to have. I know they will adjust and bring even more next month."
The Boscobel Farmer's Market and Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics recently announced a partnership to expand the current Boscobel Farmer's Market summer schedule, which consisted of Saturday mornings, to include five weeknights. Future dates of the Weekday Boscobel Farmer's Market will include July 12, August 9, September 13 and October 11—the second Wednesday of each of those months.
"Our vision is for this to become an event for the whole family. We hope to incorporate live entertainment and other family-friendly opportunities at future markets," Swan concluded.
Please plan to join organizers for the next Weekday Farmer's Market on Wednesday, July 12 from 4-7 p.m. on Bluff St. at Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics.
