Gundersen Boscobel to end the Weekday Farmers Markets with Kids' Night
The Weekday Boscobel Farmers Markets held at Gundersen Boscobel's Bluff Street Terrace will come to a close for the year on Wednesday, October 11, with an event dedicated to kids.
"Harvest" some fun and join us for a special Kids' Night at the last weekday market for the season. Beyond a great selection of locally grown produce, there will be entertainment and activities for the whole family, but especially for kids.
At the October weekday market employees from Gundersen Boscobel will be selling brats from to raise money for playground equipment for local schools. This is a project undertaken by one of GBAHC's employee teams and one we are proud to support through the market. "Local schools are really in need of balls and activity options for recess," explained Katherine Dilley, GBACH Surgical Tech who came up with the idea. "We hope to have a great response so we can meet the need."
The Boscobel Middle School Student Council members will be onsite at the market to help kids put together a free fall craft.
Also from Gundersen Boscobel, Rita Ferrie, Director of Radiology, will be providing information, handouts and giveaways pertaining to Breast Cancer Awareness month in October.
To conclude the night, starting at 7 p.m., there will be a special outdoor showing of the movie, "Sing," on an oversized inflatable movie screen with FREE popcorn for all those in attendance. The movie runs 1:48 and it is requested that all kids be accompanied by an adult.
As always, there will be fresh produce, meats, eggs, bakery items and much more!
"The Weekday Farmers Markets have been a great partnership for us. We are so proud of this season and look forward to even bigger and better things next season," concluded Director of Community Relations Eric Swan.
As one GBAHC staff member put it, "Lettuce 'turnip' some fun at Kids' Night Out!" We hope to see you there at the market on Wednesday, October 11 from 4-7 p.m. For any questions on the monthly Weekday Farmers Market, contact Eric Swan at (608) 375-6300 or Gina Goss at (608) 375-4117.
