Patients with obesity related concerns may want to have a Comprehensive Medical Assessment. If you have been unsuccessful at trying to lose weight on your own, are not seeing success with your current weight loss program, or are experiencing weight regain after weight-loss surgery a medical assessment may be recommended.
A Gundersen medical provider, specialized in weight management, will evaluate your current medication list to see if there are any drugs causing excess weight gain or hunger. Weight history, medical history and family history will also be evaluated. Together the patient and provider will decide if there are other possibilities for drug therapy, weight management or specific programs that could address their weight management needs.
This assessment is done prior to starting more aggressive treatment options, but also an option for those who are unsure about which program to participate in, have a complicated medical history, or simply want a professional medical opinion to help with their weight loss.
