Gundersen St. Joseph's to host Bike Rally
Gundersen St. Joseph's will hold a children's bike rally on Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital in Hillsboro.
This free event will consist of bike inspections, helmet fittings and a safety training course – helping children understand hand signals, correct road usage and overall bike safety.
Free bike helmets will be handed out, and children will have the opportunity to design their own helmet!
The bike rally will be followed by a family friendly bike ride on the Hillsboro-Union Center trail and day passes will be included for those participating. The event will also include door prizes and giveaways.
This event is made possible by generous donations made to the St. Joseph's Memorial Foundation by a number of donors who wish to remain anonymous and the Healthy Neighbors Coalition. The event is also supported by the Hillsboro Police Department.
The Healthy Neighbors Coalition is a joint venture of organizations and businesses to improve the health of communities in the service area of Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital and Clinics. The coalition was founded in response to a community health needs assessment and secured financial support through a population health improvement grant from the Wisconsin Office of Rural health. Members of the Healthy Neighbors Coalition include Hillsboro Lions Club, County Market, Wonewoc Lions Club, Hillsboro School District, Wonewoc-Center School District, Good Samaritan – Hillsboro, City of Hillsboro, Vernon County Unit on Aging and Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital and Clinics.
