Stretta Reflux Therapy
Stretta therapy is a nonsurgical, endoscopic procedure in which radiofrequency energy treats the underlying cause of GERD to relieve heartburn, indigestion and other symptoms. Stretta works to thicken the lower esophageal sphincter, resulting in an improved barrier function that prevents reflux.
The outpatient procedure generally takes less than an hour and requires minimal recovery time. Most people return to regular activities the following day.
If you have had bariatric surgery in the past or a Nissen fundoplication and currently suffer from GERD, Stretta therapy may be a suitable treatment option.
