Diabetes and Endocrinology

With the region's only pediatric endocrinologist, Gundersen Health System provides diagnosis, education, and treatment to children with a variety of endocrine concerns, such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Growth disorders, especially short stature
  • Early or delayed puberty
  • Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism
  • Turner syndrome
  • Hyperlipidemia or high lipids in the bloodstream

Patients with diabetes meet with a team that includes the pediatric endocrinologist, a certified diabetes nurse educator, and a nutritionist. The program has extensive experience in intensive management of diabetes.
