No parent wants to hear their child has a heart problem, but when they do they want to make sure their child is getting the best care possible. At Gundersen Health System, we've combined state-of-the-art technology with the caring touch of our expert physician and physician assistant to diagnose and treat heart problems in children. Our Pediatric Cardiology specialists care for children with both congenital and acquired heart disease from as early as five months into pregnancy through adulthood.

Our team works closely with pediatricians, family practice providers, and other pediatric subspecialists to deliver the best care to our patients and their families. They also work closely with their colleagues in Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Rochester, and Iowa City for necessary surgical procedures. Generally, children can receive all follow-up and long term care at Gundersen.

Gundersen also offers many diagnostic and treatment options including:

  • Fetal echocardiography
  • Pediatric echocardiography
  • Sedated echocardiography
  • Stress/exercise testing
  • Title table testing
  • Heart rhythm monitoring

Our specialists also work closely with the adult cardiologists for the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic. 90% of children with congenital heart disease (CHD) live to adulthood. Tha's why Gundersen started the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic. The clinic addresses the individual needs of patients with mild to complex cases of congenital heart disease.
