The professional pastoral care staff of Gundersen represents a broad range of faith backgrounds and strives to provide an assembly of highly experienced pastoral caregivers and ACPE supervisors with specialties in their given fields.
The pastoral staff have continued the tradition of care and hope for the sick and those who serve them. Gundersen employs 2 ACPE supervisors, 3 daytime staff chaplains, 1 evening staff chaplain and 3 office assistants. Student positions include one or two ACPE supervisory education student positions; 4-5 ACPE resident positions; 3-7 ACPE extended unit intern positions; 3-6 ACPE summer interns; and approximately 25 department volunteers.
The department and its ACPE program strive to be prepared to serve and provide training for pastoral care persons to support that tradition of care, faith, and hope rooted in our historic beginnings.
