To promote scholarship at the bedside while providing recognition and reward for staff that wish to become established as an expert in the research and evidence based practice conducted in their particular area of interest. This area of the Department of Nursing provides programs, which create an environment that increases nurse expertise, enthusiasm and participation in evidence-based practice and research resulting in improved nurse satisfaction and quality patient care.
Nursing Research on the Green
A community-wide event involving Gundersen Health System, Logistics Health, Inc., Mayo Clinic Health System – Franciscan Healthcare, Pi Phi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, Viterbo University School of Nursing, Western Technical College, Winona State University, and the Special Interest Group of the Wisconsin Nurses' Association. The annual event features nursing research and evidence-based practice projects done in the past year, including fellowship projects, and is designed for nurses working in any setting, as well as nursing students. Gundersen Medical Foundation
Nursing Research supports the research endeavors of Gundersen nurses and students. It also provides consultation to nurses, faculty, and students throughout the development of their programs of research, including assistance with design, measurement, statistical and qualitative analysis, and computer applications. Summer Research Fellowship for Student Nurses
