The pediatric speech-language pathologist is specifically concerned with the evaluation and treatment of developmental or acquired speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders in children. Examinations incorporate standardized as well as qualitative measures; fluoroscopy, endoscopy and instrumentation when necessary.

The clinician often works collaboratively with a team of pediatric specialists to determine the cause and plan of treatment for a variety of childhood communication and swallowing disorders.
Pediatric speech-language pathology services are available on a referral basis, generally from any source, for patients in the Hospital or Clinic.
