Working with the Non-offending Parent in Intrafamilial Cases of Child Sexual Abuse

Working with the Non-offending Parent in Intrafamilial Cases of Child Sexual AbuseCynthia King, Governor's Sex Offender Assessment Board, Pennsylvania

Length: 1:01

This training will address the role of the non-offending parent as the “soother of the waters” in intrafamilial child sexual abuse cases. Discussion will also focus on the resistance of the non-offending parent and their presence on a continuum of “knowing” about the sexual abuse to “not knowing.” Emphasis will be placed on working with the non-offending parent to help the child heal from the sexual abuse.
