When surgery is needed, it pays to get care close to home.

"Many patients have expressed to me relief when discovering there is surgical care available within a few miles of home," says Gundersen Health System surgeon Timothy Minus, DO. "In fact, some have remarked on the exceptional, personalized attention they have received from clinicians and staff in their own community, and they have asked that all future care be through the local clinic and hospital."

Dr. Minus and Gundersen physician assistant Bradley Maurhoff, PA-C, both based at the Gundersen Tomah Clinic, are now seeing patients at Gundersen Moundview Hospital in Friendship to give patients added convenience and to enhance the already great surgery services offered at Gundersen Moundview, including:

  • Colonoscopies and EGDs (upper endoscopy)
  • Gall bladder, bowel and appendix surgery
  • Hernia repair
  • Skin lesion and mass removal
  • Skin screenings
  • Wound care
  • And much more

"Working in a rural community as a surgeon is a dream come true," Dr. Minus shares. "Being able to provide quality service, ease of access and well rounded care is possible at Gundersen. We help fulfill the dreams of the people in the rural communities we serve."
