Your Next Step

Applicants who have graduated or will be graduating from pharmacy school, have good academic standing, and acceptable related experience will be considered for our program.

Interested candidates have the option to sign up for an initial interview at the various College of Pharmacy Career Days or through the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting. If the applicant will be attending ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting, enrollment in the Personal Placement Service (PPS) is required to interview at the meeting site.

Application materials include a formal letter of intent, curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, your college of pharmacy transcripts, and a current photograph (optional). We encourage your references to utilize the standard ASHP recommendation form; they may supplement with an additional letter. Application materials may be sent to the program director electronically (aegregg@gundersenhealth.org) or delivered via mail/courier:
Adam Gregg, PharmD, BCPS, Residency Program Director
Gundersen Health System
1900 South Avenue, HO1-005
La Crosse, WI 54601

Application deadline is Jan. 14, 2013.

All candidates must register for the “Match.” Registration is available at www.natmatch.com

Applicants chosen to interview at Gundersen are offered lodging accommodations the night prior to the interview. Complimentary shuttle service provides transportation to and from the hospital, and to the La Crosse Regional Airport (Airport code: LSE; phone number, (608) 791-0709). The night before the interview, the applicant (and spouse or guest) will be escorted to dinner by a pharmacy preceptor and current resident. This also affords applicants the opportunity to learn about the program as well as life in La Crosse.

The interview day includes one-on-one interviews with Adam Gregg, PharmD, BCPS, Residency Program Director and Michael Meyers, PharmD, Administrative Director of Pharmaceutical Services. The day will also include a casual lunch with our current pharmacy practice residents, an opportunity to meet many of our pharmacist preceptors during a roundtable, and a benefits discussion. To accommodate all of our candidates, we offer interviews on Mondays and Fridays during January and February.

Any other important people in your life are invited and encouraged to participate in the interview day, explore employment opportunities, or simply tour the La Crosse area.
