Special Features
This program provides the student intern opportunities to function as a member of the pharmacy services team, as well as exercise skill in educating other healthcare professionals and patients in drug therapy. The student intern has the opportunity to work in either our primary outpatient clinic pharmacy location or hospital pharmacy services, including experience with both centralized and decentralized areas.

Special Requirements for Acceptance
The student intern must have completed the second year of pharmacy school to be eligible. A resume, application form and on-site or telephone interview are required.

Training Site Features
Gundersen Health System is a progressive tertiary referral teaching center with numerous regional clinics of multi-specialty practice in affiliation with the University of Wisconsin. The hospital and clinics serve as clinical training sites for medical, pharmacy, nursing and other allied health professional students and residents. The pharmacy supports a full range of services on a 24-hour basis, with decentralized clinical pharmacist practice in all inpatient care units. Our department also operates three outpatient clinic pharmacies in the La Crosse metropolitan area.
