The Department of Surgery has 14 full-time general surgeons, 1 pediatric surgeon, 3 cardio-thoracic surgeons, 4 general plastic and facial surgeons, six otolaryngologists/head and neck surgeons, 8 orthopaedic surgeons, five urologic surgeons and six neurosurgeons.
Because of their teaching responsibilities, many of these surgeons are clinical professors of surgery at the University of Wisconsin, the University of Minnesota, the University of Iowa or the Medical College of Wisconsin.
General Surgery is divided into these five surgical teams:

Brandon T. Grover, MD, general, bariatric laparoscopic bypass surgery, and advanced laparoscopic surgery; and
Shanu N. Kothari, MD, general, bariatric laparoscopic bypass surgery, and advanced laparoscopic surgery
