Academic Day showcases resident, fellow research achievements
Gundersen Medical Foundation will host the fourth Medical Education Academic Day on Tuesday, May 21, in the La Crosse Campus Overholt Auditorium and Legacy Building. Gundersen residents and fellows will share their academic achievements with colleagues and staff.
"Academic Day is one of my favorite days of the year," says Lori Rosenstein, MD, Gundersen Hematology, and program director of the Gundersen Medical Foundation Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship. "We all know the great work that our trainees do through patient care. Academic Day lets us see what they have been doing in addition to that clinical work. We'll see a wide range of research presentations including case reports, quality improvement studies, database analyses, descriptions of surgical techniques and clinical trials. It's a great way for them to display their accomplishments and for us to learn from them."
Oral presentations will take place from 7 to 8 a.m. and noon to 1 p.m. in the Overholt Auditorium. Most presentations are five to 10 minutes. Presenters will be stationed at their posters from 1 to 2 p.m. to share information and answer questions in the Legacy Building near Emergency Services. The posters will be available for viewing from 8 a.m. to 4 pm.
