The purpose of this conference is to educate providers about new evidence and review standards of care on frequently encountered topics in Anesthesia.

Registration Cancelled

The registration deadline is Friday, March 16, 2018. Registrations will not be accepted after this date. Advance registration is required. Registration fee includes light breakfast, lunch and certificate. An email will be sent the week of the conference to registered participants with parking information and other details about the conference.

  • No charge for GHS students, residents, fellows, emeritus
  • $50 GHS associate staff (CRNA/AA, physician assistants, nurse practitioners)
  • $65 GHS medical staff
  • $75 Non-Gundersen CRNA/AA, physician assistants, nurse practitioners

Course Objectives

  • Examine diagnostic and therapeutic dilemmas encountered by anesthesiologists at the time of airway management
  • Describe focused geriatric assessments that yield priority data for optimal perioperative care
  • Demonstrate the basic steps of working with ROTEM in the OR
  • Analyze the anesthetic implications regarding patients taking new-to-the-market pharmaceuticals
  • Explain the prevalence of emergence agitation and associated risk factors in pediatric patients
  • Describe the advantages and limitations of ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia in comparison to nerve stimulation and landmark palpation techniques

Intended Audience and Purpose: The target audience includes Anesthetists, Nurse Anesthetists, and any residents or students studying to become anesthesia providers. The purpose of this activity is to provide attendees with tools to improve patient safety, quality, and practice performance.

Accreditation: Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation Inc. is accredited by the Wisconsin Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation Inc. designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
